When I first set off on this journey back in March, I did a lot of research as to what travel items I would need most. I stocked up on a bunch of different things before I left; some of which have been absolute LIFE-SAVERS! I’ve put together a list of the things that have truly rocked my travelling adventure so far.
Here are my absolute must-have travel essentials:

Skyroam Solis 4G LTE Global WiFi Hotspot
This is the NUMBER ONE thing that I cannot live without - my portable WiFi hotspot! This bad boy has saved my bacon soooo many times throughout my travels. Trust me - mobile WiFi is a necessity to stay connected when you are on the road. I have visited lots of places where; if it wasn't for my trusty Skyroam, I would have been completely cut off from the net. It includes a power bank for charging your phone as well.
Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil
I naturally get really dry skin, but traveling and flying frequently has played havoc with it more than ever. I am allergic to almost any skin products; so can only use pure oils. There's only one ingredient in this baby: 100% pure, 100% organic, 100% natural Argan Oil. I use this as a moisturiser; as it nourishes, conditions and heals my skin - and leaves me looking nice and dewy! Bonus: It's Cruelty Free + Vegan.
Nomatic 40L Travel Bag
Before I set off on my journey, I did an exhausting amount of research on good quality travel packs. I decided upon my Nomatic Travel Bag, and it turned out to be a good call! It is such a durable and amazing bag - it has too many hidden features to cover in just this little space; but as a taster it has a laptop pocket, shoe compartment, water bottle pocket, RFID & Security section, cord managing pocket, laundry bag and MORE!
Travel Packing Cube Set
I am a notoriously unorganised person; and my suitcases usually end up a scrambled mess! I invested in these packing cubes before I left New Zealand; and they are game changers. They make me pack thoughtfully; and put everything into carefully planned sections. I save so much space (and stress), and it's great to always know where everything is. I especially like this set of cubes as the colour is super cute and the mesh makes it easy to tell what's inside of each one.
Travel Adapter
When you're travelling to different countries it's essential that you get yourself a travel adapter. This one works in over 150 countries around the world (as is a hot rose gold colour too). It pays to have adapters that have USB ports on them (the more the better) so that you charge more than one device at a time. This particular adapter can charge up to 5 devices at a time, so ALL your devices will be charged and ready for you to be on the go!
Lavender Oil
I always keep a bottle of lavender oil with me on my travels. Lavender is known to be uplifting, soothing and helpful for reducing anxiety, depression, and insomnia. I pop a tiny drop into my portable facial mister (see below) when I'm feeling stressed; or dab some on my pillow at night, to sleep well. It's calming properties are great if you suffer from anxiety or depression, and you can use it in so many different ways!
Under-Eye Patches
I always used eye gel patches when I lived back in New Zealand; and use them even more now! The tropical climate here dries my skin out, and these help with puffiness and fatigue. Pop them in the fridge before you use them for an even more cooling experience. These ones are infused with green tea and Bergamot, which acts as a mood booster. Wear them at night, or when you're flying, to avoid jet-lag under-eye bags.
Kindle Paperwhite
When I first set off, a lot of my luggage was taken up with books! I LOVE reading, and always used to have a stack of books on hand. However, this doesn't mesh well with traveling solo! The solution is Kindle Paperwhite. Now I just download books and magazines onto the one light, portable device. It's water resistant, so you can use it by the pool or in the bath. No more lugging around your library!
Portable Facial Mister
This is an item that I would have shrivelled up and died without, during my travels. This facial mister is small enough to carry around in your handbag. All you have to do is fill the little tank with water, and it begins emitting cooling mist immediately. It hydrates your skin and feels so soothing - especially when you are in tropical heat! Add a drop of lavender to the tank if you're stressed, and you're in instant heaven...
Sony Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Although they are expensive; these headphones are worth every penny. The noise-cancelling function is amazing! They have been a blessing in so many situations. I've been able to sit in busy cafes and write, without being distracted by music or chatter. The place where I've found them the most useful was at the airport. I could drown out overstimulating background noise; which dramatically reduced my stress levels.
Travel Jewellery Organiser
I have a BUNCH of earrings, bracelets and necklaces, that somehow always end up missing, or tangled up in some random corner of my suitcase. I bought this gorgeous travel jewellery organiser before I flew out for exactly that reason. It has different zones so you can safely store everything without anything getting lost or twisted up in luggage. And I love the dusky pink colour too!
